Enrolling in the pro­gram is a require­ment if you want to earn the cer­tifi­cate. You may apply for admis­sion as you start your stud­ies or, if you pre­fer, after you have tak­en one or more courses. 

To enrol, you must have a min­i­mum of a high school diplo­ma (or equiv­a­lent) and two years of relat­ed work expe­ri­ence. If you attend­ed high school in Alber­ta, tran­scripts may be ordered from Alber­ta Edu­ca­tion at 780−427−5732; for high schools out­side of Alber­ta, con­tact the cor­re­spond­ing provin­cial depart­ment of education. 

You are still invit­ed to apply if you do not meet the admis­sion require­ments. Your qual­i­fi­ca­tions will be reviewed, and con­di­tion­al entrance may be grant­ed. For details, con­tact the pro­gram office at 780−492−7237.

The Construction Management & Administration Certificate is comprised of five 39-hour core courses, one 21 hour core seminar, and a minimum of 39 hours in elective courses, for a total of 255 instructional hours. This part-time program is typically completed within one to three years, but students have up to six years to fulfill their program requirements.

Courses are taught online. Some courses may have pre- or post-class assignments in addition to the scheduled face-to-face classroom work. Schedules are flexible and designed to accommodate the needs of those holding full-time jobs.

Cred­it trans­fer agreement

If you have com­plet­ed a course from Edmon­ton Con­struc­tion Asso­ci­a­tion (ECA) or Build­Force Cana­da with­in the last five years that is applic­a­ble to the Con­struc­tion Man­age­ment & Admin­is­tra­tion pro­gram, you may qual­i­fy for up to a max­i­mum of 21 hours toward the 39 hours of Elec­tive Cred­it require­ment with­in our Con­struc­tion Man­age­ment & Admin­is­tra­tion (CST) Cer­tifi­cate program. 

Please note that this cred­it can only be obtained once. In oth­er words, even if you have com­plet­ed mul­ti­ple cours­es, 21 hours is the max­i­mum num­ber of hours allowed for indus­try train­ing recognition.
